Moon Editions is proud to present the online release of new prints by artist
Victor Reyes. This release coincides with Victor’s “Misspelled” exhibition at
E6 Gallery in San Francisco.
Over the last month we had the pleasure of working with Victor in our
studio to create a hand painted multiple, based on a mixed media type
study painting in the exhibition. Victor started off the edition by hand
painting a unique background wash on each sheet of paper in the run,
giving every print an individual colorway prior to printing. After the first color
was pulled on the press, Victor hand embellished each print with highlights
and fills, and this process continued with Victor applying hand painted
layers between each printed color. The process used to create this piece
mimicked the approach that Victor took to construct the type study
paintings in the exhibition, the end result of the print provides an
exceptional example of this new body of work. The Misspelled HPM is
limited to an edition of 40.
In addition, we are releasing another print, entitled “California.” This print is
a two color serigraph based on a photograph of a mural done by Victor in
San Francisco. This print is available in two colorways: fluorescent orange/
black, and metallic silver/black. Each colorway is limited to an edition of
50.
